The festival of Purim is celebrated this year on
the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar II.
This year the holiday begins on
Wednesday evening, March 20th,
and continues through Thursday, March 21st.
It commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people
in ancient Persia from Haman's plot to kill all the Jews.
